Letter Forty-Two from the Lovely Lady Lena

Can’t think of any song lyrics to start this email so I will just jump into it. This week we got the good ol’ stomach flu bug. It started with Sister Sadler but within 24 hours all 4 Schwarzenberg missionaries had it. Sister Sadler was just hipster and got it before anyone else. As I laid in bed for 36 hours straight, I was able to plan my whole future life, listen to a few church podcasts, and invent new shadow puppets (see photo). Just when we thought we  had been healed, we went to an eating appointment where she served us eggs swimming in butter (refer to photo). That set us back another day. Despite these set backs, we still had a miraculous march week! Here are the highlights:

     1. Sister Sadler got to try her first Rouladen at Fr.G’s (who is continually progressing and mark my word, one of these days the truth is going to hit her so hard and it will all click!)
     2. I found banana-chens! aka tiny bananas. So adorable! I bought a bunch and snacked on them while enjoying a lovely burning sunset. (Why are all my highlights so far about food?!) I am also becoming a pro with this self timer photo balancing act.
     3. The Elders have befriended a Frei Christliche Church (translation to english?!) and we plan to one day baptize them all into the true church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On Friday we went to their youth night where they sing Christian rock songs and eat food. It was so much fun to socialize with people my age that have the same standards as me! And we made an appointment to meet with one of the girls later this week. She is pretty much my German soul sister and perhaps the reason I had to (got to) stay in Schwarzenberg for so long. The work is moving at full speed!
     4. We have a member here that we are pretty sure is one of the three Nephites. He appears in the most random places at the most random times and is so mysterious! And he is a saint, so kind and always brings us little sweets ‘for the breakfast table.’ We saw him twice this week as we were outside teaching. One time we were giving a lesson under a bridge and the Nephite walked over the bridge, saw us, waved, and continued walking. A few days later we were teaching at a bus station and he came around the corner and did the same thing. He is everywhere! He is one of the Three Nephites!(side note: if you don’t know who the three Nephites are, I suggest you read the Book of Mormon. It is really quite an interesting book, two thumbs up!)
I hope all is well on the Western front. I quite enjoy hearing from you, yes YOU. Any comments, questions, snide remarks? Send it to Zoom!(#childhoodflashback) I just want everyone to know that this church is true. Satan, the father of lies, often tells his children that a little truth is enough. A little truth is NEVER enough. Go and find all the truth. I know that the fullness of the truth can be found here, and I search every day to find more truth.
     Until next week,
Sister Helzer
