My Mission In 5 Minutes

Ladies ‘n’ Gents of this world! I know I haven’t posted in a few weeks, but it was all for a good cause. What? No, I wasn’t in Africa building schools. Excuse me? No, I wasn’t in India building houses. Alright, enough guessing! I was working on a short video project of my mission. I wanted to capture my last 18 months in 5 minutes; a daunting task! Writing is an amazing outlet, but it’s hard to capture emotion when my readers can’t speak English. Video arts transcend language barriers. I hope this video inspires YOU, the 19 year old girl debating a mission, the 22 year old RM feeling lost, the man in Dresden wanting to learn more about the gospel, the boy who is waiting for his sister to return, the mom who is waiting for her elder, and of course, the one who is eager to enter to field and change lives.

My mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was nothing short of amazing, challenging, exhilarating, rewarding, humbling, and wuenderschoen! I know that Jesus is your Savior, and he’s waiting to bless you. Feel free to read more about it here, or contact me here.

xoxo,

Lady Lena

  • Great job Alena and Welcome Home! I read the Deseret News article about your video during my lunch break at work. I enjoyed it so much I played it for my wife and children when I got home. Our whole house stopped, stood still and listened. We played it again. We felt the spirit, were uplifted and even danced too. Very inspiring! And we have a new favorite song “Welcome Home” by Radical Face!
Some of my ancestors emigrated from Germany to America in 1865. I long to visit Bietikow, Gramzow, Damme and Lützlow….maybe someday as a senior missionary.
It was great to see Deutschland through your experience. Alles Gute!

    • Danke Dan!

That is so nice of you to say. I’m glad I could bring the spirit to your home, if only for a little bit. Germany is a wonderful place, that would be a cool place to serve a senior mission. Three cheers for Deutschland!

      Liebe Gruesse,
      Alena

    • Thank you so much! I’ve always been into filming and editing so I kept that in mind through out my whole mission. I’m glad you like it. 🙂
